Resistor
A passive component that limits current flow by converting electrical energy into heat.
Capacitor
A passive component that stores electrical energy in an electric field between two plates.
Diode
A semiconductor that lets current flow in one direction only.
LED
A light-emitting diode — a diode that emits light when current flows through it in the forward direction.
NPN Transistor
A three-terminal semiconductor that uses a small base current to control a much larger collector-emitter current.
555 Timer
An 8-pin integrated circuit used to generate precise time delays or oscillating square waves.
Battery
A DC voltage source that powers a circuit by converting stored chemical energy into electrical energy.
Switch
A mechanical component that opens or closes a circuit path.
Light Bulb
An incandescent load that converts electrical power into light and heat via a resistive filament.
Inductor
A passive component that stores energy in a magnetic field and resists changes in current.
DC Motor
An electromechanical load that converts electrical current into rotational motion.
Buzzer
A component that converts electrical signals into an audible tone.
Voltmeter
A measuring instrument connected in parallel to read the voltage across a component.
Ammeter
A measuring instrument connected in series to read the current flowing through a circuit branch.
Potentiometer
A variable resistor with a sliding wiper, used to adjust voltage or resistance manually.
Transformer
A component that transfers AC energy between two coils at a different voltage via mutual induction.
Fuse
A sacrificial protective component that breaks the circuit when current exceeds its rating.
Solar Panel
A photovoltaic source that converts light into a DC voltage and current.
AND Gate
A digital logic gate whose output is high only when all inputs are high.
OR Gate
A digital logic gate whose output is high when at least one input is high.
RGB LED
An LED package with three independent red, green, and blue dies in one housing.
Zener Diode
A diode designed to conduct in reverse once a specific breakdown voltage is reached, used for voltage regulation.
Relay
An electromechanical switch where a low-power coil controls a separate, isolated high-power contact.
Breadboard
A reusable prototyping board with a grid of connected holes for building circuits without soldering.
Ground
The circuit's common reference point, defined as 0V.
Push Button
A momentary switch that closes only while physically pressed.
PNP Transistor
A three-terminal semiconductor, the complementary opposite of the NPN, that switches on when the base is pulled low.
N-Channel MOSFET
A voltage-controlled switch that conducts between drain and source once its gate voltage passes a threshold.
Op-Amp
A high-gain differential amplifier IC used to build amplifiers, comparators, and filters.
Photoresistor (LDR)
A light-dependent resistor whose resistance drops as light intensity increases.
Thermistor
A temperature-dependent resistor used for temperature sensing and compensation.
Power Supply
A configurable DC source with settable voltage and current limit, used to power a circuit under test.
