How it works
A fuse is an essential safety component designed to permanently break a circuit if the current flowing through it exceeds a safe limit. It contains a thin wire or strip of metal that is carefully calibrated to melt (or "blow") when too much current passes through it, generating excess heat.
Once a standard fuse blows, it is destroyed and must be physically replaced. Fuses protect expensive components from damage and prevent wires from overheating and causing fires during a short circuit or catastrophic failure.
