Switch

A mechanical component that opens or closes a circuit path.

How it works

A switch is the most fundamental control component in electronics. It creates a physical break in the circuit, completely stopping the flow of current when open, and allowing current to flow with near-zero resistance when closed.

In CircuitForge, standard switches are ideal: they have infinite resistance when open and zero resistance when closed. Use them to manually control power to different sections of your circuit or to interact with digital logic gates.

Standard Component

This component does not have distinct values or part numbers. The standard version is available in the simulator.
